Imran Abbas

Imran Abbas is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience in the local and international telecommunications industry. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Link Africa™ since December 2022, his professional journey has seen him head various positions in notable organisations such as:

Facebook: Abbas served as the Partner Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at Facebook. His experience in managing partnerships and understanding the digital landscape adds significant value to his leadership role.
Liquid Telecoms: He also held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Liquid Telecoms, where he contributed to shaping the company’s technological direction.
Neotel: Abbas served as the Chief of Networks and Services Officer at Neotel, a telecommunications company.
Plessey and Telkom: His career includes roles such as Operations Executive at Plessey and Area Manager at Telkom. responsible for various master plans and budget requirements.

Following suite, is Imran’s impressive educational background. He has a diverse academic record stemming from a degree in Electrical Engineering, specialising in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Moving forward, Imran completed an Executive Development Program through the Ross School of Business and an M-Tech Program in Management (equivalent to an MBA). Motivated to further his education, Imran pursued a Masters Degree in Programme Management at Cranefield, which he successfully completed in 2005.
In 2010, Imran attended an Executive Leadership program at Michigan, focusing on Management. As he continued in his academic journey, he received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Management of Technology and Innovation from the DaVinci PHD program in 2013.
