Doreen Mokoena is a visionary cybersecurity leader and CEO of Cybersec Clinique, as well as CIO of Cyberm8, ISPA Board Member, and ICANN Candidate Board Member. Since founding Cybersec Clinique in 2020, she has led impactful cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives, particularly within critical sectors such as mining, positioning the firm as a trusted industry partner.
Her expertise spans regulatory compliance, data privacy, IT governance, and internet governance, with a strong focus on protecting the Domain Name System (DNS) as a foundation of global digital infrastructure. She has represented South Africa in international forums, including ICANN, contributing to policies that promote a secure and inclusive internet.
Doreen is a passionate advocate for diversity in technology, actively empowering women in cybersecurity through initiatives such as Women in Cybersecurity in Lesotho. She is also deeply involved in cybersecurity education, collaborating with universities to strengthen academic programs and align them with industry standards.
Her leadership and contributions have earned industry recognition and a nomination for an honorary doctorate in Leadership and Cybersecurity, reflecting her ongoing impact on Africa’s digital economy and global cybersecurity advancement.
