ICANN | Distinguished Technologist
Alain is a Distinguished Technologist at ICANN since March
2015. Alain applies expert knowledge to ICANN's technical
strategy, policy development, and operations, with a
particular emphasis on Domain Names and Internet operation.
His career spans major tech firms, including roles at Juniper
Networks and Comcast, where he led initiatives on IPv6 global adoption.
Alain’s contributions to Internet standards are extensive,
highlighted by his authorship or co-authorship of 14 Request
for Comments (RFCs) through the Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) between 1995 and 2012. These documents have
influenced global IPv6 transition strategies, addressing
challenges, and operational guidelines for DNS over IPv6.
In his ICANN role, Alain continues to advance DNS resilience and Internet stability.
